Before we became accessify we were The Accessibility Project. A social enterprise improving identified need by implementing projects directly into the community.

Community Hub

A café style space providing an open, safe environment for light refreshments, activities and socialisation.

    • Initially to combat the growing economic and energy crisis of 2022.

    • To provide a safe space for all.

    • To tackle rising social isolation and mental health rate.

    • To provide free light refreshments to tackle food inequality

    • To provide a centralised hub to access support services

    • An open space for all with light refreshments

    • Contact points to support services

    • Occasional activities such as arts and crafts

    • Occasional book swap

    • Volunteer opportunities and development

    • Open every Thursday from 13:00 - 15:00

  • Many organisations have supported the community hub since 2022 but it was initially set up as a collaborative effort between us and St John the Evangelist with the support of Surrey County Council and United Reformed Church. The hub has also been supported by Oxted and Edenbridge Hygiene Bank, Moor House School, Track News Coffee Shop to name a few. After two years of success and a sustainable future, the running of the hub was given to St John’s Church.

Health Checks

Providing health checks for those hardest-to-reach and high risk of acute medical conditions directly into the community.

    • To address health inaccessibility and inequality

    • To promote health and wellbeing

    • To deliver directly in the community

    • To support hard-to-reach communities

    • To reduce wait times

    • 45 minute health check for hard-to-reach, high risk individuals

    • Follow up undertaken by primary care services

    • Emotional wellbeing support

    • Health checks will be advertised as and when delivered

    • The first health checks in Hurst Green were delivered by Alliance for Better Care

    • Alongside St John’s Church we undertook the planning, community engagement and hosting of the health checks

    • Growing Health Together supported us financially to cover venue hire costs, advertising and refreshments

Community Christmas

The Community Christmas is an initiative to bring people together, celebrate and share gifts over the festive period.

  • Christmas isn’t always a celebration, over the festive period there can be many struggles including:

    • Social Isolation

    • Increased levels of poor mental wellbeing

    • Economic Challenges

    • Food inequality

    • Inability to access services

    • Relationship Stress

    • Activities for both Children and Adults

    • Visit from Santa (free of charge) with Christmas gifts

    • Hygiene, Gift and Food Bank to support individuals over the holiday

    • Refreshments

    • Christmas Gift Bags for all attendees

    • Support Services if required

    • The last Saturday before the Christmas period

    • 2024 Time and Venue TBC

  • The Community Christmas is a collaborative effort. We are grateful to all the support that enables us to undertake this event. Organisations include:

Ukrainian Support

In response to the Homes for Ukraine sponsorship scheme we collaborated with the community to support the integration of refugees into Tandridge.

    • Developing a ‘Welcome to the Community’ package

    • Supporting free, accessible English lessons

    • Art as Therapy for children and young people

    • Host Support for wellbeing promotion

    • Community Celebrations to foster relationships & celebrate culture

    • The Ukrainian Integration support was a universal effort across the entire community, including churches, schools, health providers, charities and more. This support ran alongside the services implemented at council and governmental level.
